Welcome to the new CFP

July 2, 2017 by Matthew Congrove

Today, after months of work, I'm happy to announce the launch of the redesigned CollegeFootballPoll.com website.

Content That Matters

When we began this process we tried to focus on what CFP is and what we want it to be. A lot of time was invested in researching where you, our users, spend the most time looking at content. Armed with that information, we pared-down the site significantly. Rather than spending effort on producing a lot of mediocre content, we instead want to focus on making a little bit of great content.

Much of the editorial content will stick around, just in a different format. Weekly pre- and post-game analysis, conference-by-conference season previews, and many other articles will be packaged together on the home page.

Supporting All Devices

Believe it or not, the last version of the website was designed all the way back in 2007 – the same year the first iPhone was released. It's safe to say that smart phones have changed the web, and here at CFP we're glad to finally catch up. Getting the latest rankings and picks on-the-go should now be much simpler.

A Better Experience

There's no denying that ads have become more intrusive over the years. While this site is and always will be advertiser supported, we wanted to make sure you have the best experience possible while here. To that end, we've eliminated many different ads from the site, and will no longer support the most annoying formats. Especially pop-overs and pop-unders.

Historical Data

With over 4,500 pages of content, we quickly realized that making all of our historical data available at launch wouldn't be possible. Simply going through all of that information and determining what we want to keep is a big task on it's own. We will do our best to slowly and steadily import archived data over time.

We hope that you enjoy the new CFP. If you have any comments, questions, concerns or problems, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
The CFP Staff
