Covid Takes 2 More Games Off of Saturday's Schedule

Two more games scheduled for this Saturday have been canceled due to Covid issues - Cincinnati at Tulsa, and FIU at Charlotte.

These are the 4th and 5th games canceled this week. Baylor's had to put a halt to its home date with Oklahoma State, Florida postponed its home game versus LSU, and Vanderbilt canceled its trip to Missouri. All three of those games have been rescheduled for December 12.

Cincinnati canceled its trip to play the Golden Hurricane, due to positive COVID-19 cases within its program and the ensuing quarantine of student-athletes, the American Athletic Conference announced Friday.  The game has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 5.

"We are disappointed we will be unable to play Tulsa Saturday. We knew this season was going to require a lot of patience and flexibility and disruptions were likely to happen. The health and safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff is always our primary focus and we appreciated the outstanding work and continued dedication of our medical staff throughout the pandemic."

The FIU website only states the following: "FIU's game scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 17 at Charlotte has been postponed due to an increase in COVID-19 positive results within the FIU football program. Out of an abundance of caution, all team activities have been paused."

No make-up date has been set for the FIU-Charlotte game, but December 5 and December 12 are available for both schools.
