College Football Playoff Committee Rankings - Nov. 9

November 9, 2021 by Staff

The College Football Playoff Committee released its second set of rankings for the 2021 season on Tuesday night with Georgia an easy choice to slot at No. 1. Alabama holds onto second, and then a very mild shakeup begins.

Michigan State's loss to Purdue sent the Spartans tumbling from 3rd to 7th, inexplicably behind the Michigan team it defeated. Oregon, Ohio State, Cincinnati and Michigan all move up one spot to take 3rd through 6th.

Undefeated Oklahoma is the lowest-ranked of the remaining 3 unbeaten teams in the Power Five at No. 8.

Notre Dame and Oklahoma State round out the top ten.

UTSA, from the Group of Five, is the lowest-ranked undefeated team overall at No. 23.

The new entrants are Purdue at No. 19, Fresno State at No. 23, aforementioned UTSA at No. 23, Utah at No. 24, and Arkansas at No. 25.

The four teams that exited the rankings are Mississippi State, Kentucky, Minnesota and Fresno State.
