NOTE: CollegeFootballPoll.com's Dave Congrove is among the voters.

The weekly FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll, voted on by a panel of football writers and college football Hall Of Fame members, was released Monday morning and has Alabama remaining atop the poll after a convincing road victory at Tennessee. But No. 2 Ohio State slid all the way to No. 9 after suffering its first loss of the season at Purdue. Every other team, Nos. 3-9, moved up a slot, staring with Clemson, now No. 2.

The Tigers are followed by Notre Dame, LSU, Michigan, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma and then Ohio State. Florida and UCF switched places at Nos. 10-11. Oregon and North Carolina State fell out of the poll after losses. Washington State and Texas A&M each moved into the poll for the first time this year.

The SEC led all conferences with six teams. The Big 12 had three. The Big Ten and Pac-12 had two each. The American, ACC and Independents had one each.

About the Poll

The poll was established at the conclusion of the 2013 season by long-time partners, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF). Voters rank the top 16 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, and the results will be released every Monday of the 2018 season; the individual votes of all members will also be made public. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective.
