Super 16 Poll - Georgia, Cincinnati, Oklahoma and Alabama Make Up Top Four

October 17, 2021 by FWAA, NFF and CollegeFootballPoll.com

Georgia collected all 52 first-place votes in the Super 16 College Football Poll to reign supreme for another week. The Bulldogs were 30-13 victors over then-No. 9 Kentucky, handing the Wildcats their first loss of the season in the SEC East showdown.

Meanwhile, Iowa tumbled all the way to 11th from  last week's No. 2 spot after a 24-7 home whipping was administered by un-ranked Purdue.

A panel of 52 FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers vote in the poll. Voters were selected to create a balanced geographical perspective and include CollegeFootballPoll.com's Dave Congrove.

Teams ranked 3 through 7 a week ago all slid up one spot, thanks to Iowa's slide. Cincinnati becomes the new No. 2, followed by Oklahoma, Alabama and Ohio State to round out the top five.

After that, Michigan, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Penn State and Oregon complete the top ten.

No team dropped out of the poll this week

The Big Ten leads all conferences with five teams, followed by the SEC with four and the Big 12 with two. The American, ACC, Independents, Pac-12 and Sun Belt have one team each in the poll.

Congrove's ballot: 1) Georgia, 2) Oklahoma, 3) Cincinnati, 4) Michigan 5) Michigan State, 6) Alabama, 7) Oklahoma State, 8) Ohio State, 9) Iowa, 10) Penn State, 11) Wake Forest, 12) Kentucky, 13) NC State, 14) Oregon, 15) Notre Dame, 16) Pittsburgh.
