Rankings: Ohio State Is New No. 1

Ohio State ascends to No. 1 in the latest Congrove Computer Rankings, released shortly after the conclusion of Saturday's games. Alabama, Notre Dame and Oregon round out the top 4 with USC and Clemson at Nos. 5 and 6.

Due to the staggered start of the season by various conference, the Buckeyes are one of seventeen undefeated teams heading into Thanksgiving weekend. Ohio State was ranked 2nd last week.

Ohio State held Indiana at bay, 42-35 on Saturday, while Notre Dame and Clemson were idle. USC was a 33-17 winner at Utah and Oregon squeaked past UCLA 38-35.

Florida leapt from 11th to 7th, overtaking the Texas A&M that the Gators lost to earlier in the year. Florida was a 38-17 winner of Vanderbilt while the Aggies' home game versus Ole Miss was among the 18 that were either canceled or postponed due to Covid issues.

Wisconsin plummeted from No. 1 to No. 9 after a 17-7 loss to Northwestern. The Wildcats bumped up from 15th to 13th.

Indiana only fell from 5th to 10th after the loss to Ohio State.
