Playoff Committee Rankings

December 1, 2020 by Staff

Once again, we called it.

Following Saturday's games, our weekend recap included this commentary on the next set of playoff committee rankings, "It will be interesting to see how the committee treats Ohio State, given that the Buckeyes have only played one game since November 7, and just 4 games for the season. We personally would not demote them for that reason if the committee is truly relying on the "eye test" to guide their collective decision. Therefore, don't be a bit surprised if, once again, the top seven is Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Florida, and Cincinnati."

Voila! That IS your Top 7 in the second set of committee rankings released Tuesday night.

The biggest changes this week saw Texas exiting the poll after ranking 17th in the initial poll, Auburn dropping out after being ranked 22nd last week, Louisiana moving in at No. 25, Washington entering at #22, Oklahoma State jumping 8 spots from 23 to 15 after a weak win over Texas Tech, and Iowa State deservedly cracking the top ten at No. 9.
