Clemson Climbs Back To Top Of Computer Rankings

December 3, 2017 by Dave Congrove

Wisconsin's 27-21 loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game sent the Badgers down to No. 5 and allowed Clemson to climb back on top of the Congrove Computer Rankings (CCR Top 130).

Wisconsin was last week's No. 1 team as the only remaining unbeaten among schools in a Power 5 conference. The Badgers (12-1) are still one spot ahead of Ohio State (11-2).

Clemson was No. 3 week ago, but the strength of a 38-3 whipping of Miami (FL) in the ACC Championship catapulted the Tigers over Alabama, which was and remains 2nd.

Georgia gets the No. 3 spot this week after dumping Auburn 28-7 in the SEC Championship game.

Oklahoma, a 41-17 winner over TCU in The Big 12 Championship game, takes 4th.

UCF is 7th for the third straight week. The Knights were 62-55 double-overtime winners over Memphis in the American Championship game.

Penn State, Washington, and PAC-12 champ USC complete the top 10.

The Big Ten, PAC-12 and SEC each have four teams in the top 25 while the ACC, American and Big 12 have 3 apiece. The MAC, Mountain West, Independents and Sun Belt have 1 each.

Florida Atlantic is the highest-rated Conference USA team at No. 27.
