CCR Top 130: Georgia Falls From 3rd to 8th; Ohio State and LSU Remain 1-2

Georgia falls from 3rd to 8th after the 20-17 double-overtime loss to South Carolina loss on Saturday. The Bulldogs' first setback came against a team that was just 2-3 entering the game. Ohio State remain 1-2 in the latest Congrove Computer Rankings (CCR Top 130), released minutes after completion of the final game of the week.

A full 25% of the schools that entered the week undefeated lost for the first time as the total number of unbeatens was whittled down from 16 to 12. Florida lost to LSU and fell from 9th to 15th, Wake Forest dropped a 62-59 decision at home to Louisville and descended from 20th to 26th, and Memphis's 30-28 loss at Temple dropped the Tigers from 33rd to 43rd.

Georgia's loss helped Alabama climb from 4th to 3rd and Clemson inch upward from 5th to 4th. Wisconsin leaps over Oklahoma with a jump from 7th to 5th. Penn State moves up from 8th to 7th, while Michigan rises from 10th to 9th and Oregon advances from 12th to 10th.

Ohio State was idle this week, LSU downed Florida 42-38, Alabama dumped Texas A&M 47-28, Clemson pasted Florida State 45-14, Wisconsin blanked Michigan State 38-0, Oklahoma dropped Texas 34-27, Penn State got past Iowa 17-12, Michigan pulled away from Illinois 42-25, and Oregon slapped Colorado 45-3 (Friday).

Four teams dropped out of the top 25 - Wake Forest, Virginia, Michigan State and Texas A&M.

The four new entrants are Appalachian State at No. 25, Boise State at No. 23, Cincinnati at No. 22 and Washington at No. 21.

SEC teams hold 6 spots in the Top 25, all of which are ranked 16th or higher. Big Ten teams also own 6 spots in the Top 25, 4 of which are among the top 13.

The Big 12 and PAC-12 each have 4 members in the Top 25, while the ACC has just 1.

The rest of the Top 25 is made up of 1 Independent (Notre Dame), 1 American Conference school (Cincinnati), 1 Mountain West member (Boise State), and 1 Sun Belt representative (Appalachian State).

UMass continues be the best of the worst. The Minutemen claim the No. 130 spot in the Top 130 for the 7th consecutive week..
