The 2025 edition of the Tampa Bay Bucs appear destined for another successful season in 2025. The Bucs have reached the playoffs every year since 2020 when a QB named Tom Brady came to town and helped lead the franchise to its second Super Bowl victory in SB LV over Kansas City. The first came in 2002 in Super Bowl XXXVII.

In 2021, Brady guided an injury-riddled team to a 1st-place finish in the NFC South (13-4) after they finished 2nd the prior year (11-5) while New Orleans captured the division (12-4). They went on to roll the Eagles, 31-15, in the Wild Card round and nearly pulled off one of the NFL's largest comebacks in the divisional round. In that game, Brady worked magic to rally Tampa Bay from a 27-3 deficit to tie the game with 42 seconds left season, but LA Rams QB Matt Stafford threw a 44-yard pass to Cooper Kupp to set up Matt Gay's walkoff 30-yard field goal. It ended Brady's most prolific season as he threw for a personal-best 5,316 yards and second-best 43 touchdowns.
In Brady's final season, and without Bruce Arians as head coach (Todd Bowles was elevated), Tampa Bay won the NFC South again in 2022, but the Bucs were bounced by the Cowboys, 31-15 in Tampa, in the Wild Card round. The 2022 squad won the division with an 8-9 record while the other three teams - Atlanta, Carolina and New Orleans - all went 7-10.
A third straight NFC South title came in 2023 (9-8) with Baker Mayfield at QB, though Tampa Bay only improved by one win. After taking a 32-9 blowout of Philadelphia in the Wild Card round in Tampa, the Bucs fell 31-23 at Detroit in the divisional round.
Last year, after a 10-7 season and another NFC South title, the Bucs were eliminated in the Wild Card round by a red hot Washington Commanders squad that had fallen 37-20 at the Bucs in the regular season opener.
In 2025, Bowles returns for year No. 4 as head coach and Mayfield for year 3 at QB. With +3100 odds, the Bucs are No. 15 of all 32 teams for winning the Super Bowl, but +110 for top 2025 NFC South Champion odds.

Jason Licht has served as the GM since 2014.
Josh Grizzard was elevated to offensive coordinator in 2025 after being hired in 2024 as the passing game coordinator. That move was made after Liam Coen was hired as Jacksonville's new head coach.
Head coach Bowles also continues to serve as head of the defense, but the Bucs were just 18th over-all on that side of the ball in '24 and a woeful 29th in pass defense. They were strong, however, against the run as they ranked 4th-best in that category.
Tampa's 2025 NFL draft picks were two wide receivers, two EDGE players and 2 additions to the defensive backfield.
Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (rd. 1, pick 19) was the first selection while the next four picks all went to defensive players. Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morris was chosen in round 2 with the 53rd, and another corner, Jacob Parish of Kansas State, was taken with the 84th pick over-all in round #3. EDGE players became the focus for the next two picks where Tampa took David Walker out of FCS member Central Arkansas (rd. 4, pick 121) and Elijah Roberts of SMU (rd. 5, pick 157). The final pick came in round 7 where another wide receiver, Tez Johnson of Oregon, was taken with the 235th over-all selection.
