Ohio State collects 59 of 67 first-place votes in AFCA Coaches' Poll

The new US LBM Coaches' Poll has Ohio State in the top spot, replacing Texas after the Buckeyes won Saturday's clash in Columbus, 14-7. Ohio State was listed at the top of 59 of the 67 ballots while No. 2 Penn State received 6 of the remaining 8 first-place votes. No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 LSU split the other two.

The loss dropped Texas to No. 6, behind 5th-place Oregon.

Clemson only dropped from 6th to 8th after the 17-10 home loss to LSU.

Miami rose from 10th to 7th after a 27-24 home win over Notre Dame. The Irish slipped from 5tyh to 9th.

Arizona State rounded out the top 10.

The poll is conducted by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Kansas State and Boise State fell out of the poll after the Wildcats lost to Iowa State in week zero and struggled to beat FCS member North Dakota on Saturday. The Broncos opened their season on the wrong end of a 34-7 rout at USF.
