The third and final week of the National Football League's preseason commenced on Thursday with a pair of games that saw the New York Football Giants cruise to a 42-10 win at home over the New England Patriots, and the Pittsburgh Steelers claim a 19-10 win in Charlotte over the Carolina Panthers.
NFL Preseason action continues with four games tonight before wrapping up with 10 games tomorrow.

Four games today include the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles leading off the activities on NFL+ at 7:30 with their only road trip when they visit the New York Jets. Both teams are 1-1.
The 8 p.m. kickoff in Dallas features a pair of 0-and-2 teams on the NFL Network as Atlanta comes to town.
Saturday's games includes Jacksonville at Miami at 7 p.m. on the NFL Network. The Jaguars are 0-1-1 and the Dolphins are 1-0-1.
The Raiders visit the Cardinals (1-1) at 10 p.m. for last of the NFL preseason games when the combatants tee it up at 10 p.m. Las Vegas is 0-1-1 while Arizona is 1-1.
The Giants finished their 3-game set undefeated while the Patriots lost for the first time. The Giants won 3 games all of last season, and though this is the preseason, it was somewhat imperative to change the tone in the locker room. Winning preseason games doesn't hurt - especially when you do so by outscoring your opponents by a cumulative 107-47.
New England played Ben Woolridge at quarterback for the entire game. The undrafted rookie free agent quarterback threw for 2,453 yards with 17 TD passes and 6 INT's last season for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. Numerous Injuries -- ACL, shoulder AC joint, Lisfranc, collarbone --- led to him being a 7-year collegian that turns 26 on September 27. He began at Fresno State in 2018 and transferred to Louisiana in 2022 after throwing a total of just 22 passes for the Bulldogs. He played in 24 games for UL-L while passing for 4,649 yards and 37 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. - mostly in 2022 and 2024. Last night he completed 10-of-20 for 82 yards with a TD pass and an INT for a rating of 56.7.
The Giants went with Jaxson Dart for the first four possessions before exciting the game after a hard hit that ended a 23-yard run and caused a fumble with no turnover as the defense was called for holding. It was later reported that he cleared concussion protocol. Dart was 6-of-12 for 81 yards with a TD. Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito handled QB duties the rest of the night. DeVito had a picnic out there with a 17-of-20 performance for 198 yards and 3 touchdowns as New York outscored the Patriots 28-0 in the second half.
Dart has been one of the preseason standout players, completing 68.1% of his passing for 372 yards with 3 TD's and not a single pick.
Carolina scored a total of 23 points in the preseason and dropped to 0-3 while Pittsburgh wrapped up a 2-1 August. The Panthers seemed to telegraph who would be staying on the roster by resting all of their expected starters and numerous reserves. The Steelers only played a few starters and for a limited time.
Teams must set their 53-man rosters by 4 p.m. next Tuesday (August 28).
