Sun Belt Conference Announces Preseason Coaches Poll
Sun Belt Conference Release July 20, 2009
CFP – The Sun Belt Conference coaches' preseason poll has been released and defending champion Troy was listed first on the ballot by five of the nine member coaches. Four schools received a single first-place vote - FAU, FIU, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe.
Conference coaches have shown a tendency to vote for the team that won the previous year's title. Last year, the coaches voted FAU as the team to beat after the Owls had claimed the 2007 crown, and Troy was tapped in 2007 after the Trojans had won the 2006 title.
The Sun Belt Conference, in an effort to save money during dire economic times, is conducting Media Days as a 2-day web-based event, July 20 and 21.
