NOTE: CollegeFootballPoll.com's Dave Congrove is among the voters.

Alabama remains No. 1, and the top 5 are all unchanged, in the new FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll released today. The poll, which is voted on by a panel of football writers and college football Hall Of Fame members, dropped Texas from 6 to 15 after the loss to Oklahoma State.

The Crimson Tide was idle over the weekend.

Clemson, which mauled Florida State 59-10,  is still 2nd. The Tigers are once again followed by Notre Dame, LSU and Michigan. Last week's 7-through-9 teams (Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State) all slide up a notch while Washington State jumps from 14 to 10.

About the Poll

The poll was established at the conclusion of the 2013 season by long-time partners, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF). Voters rank the top 16 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, and the results will be released every Monday of the 2018 season; the individual votes of all members will also be made public. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective.
