LSU (10-3) eked past Iowa 21-14 in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day in Tampa for its 4th straight double-digit win season.

Jeremy Hill had 216 yards and 2 TD's for the Tigers who never trailed but couldn't put away the Hawkeyes until Hill's 2-yard run with 2:02 to play. Iowa scored a touchdown 20 seconds later, but LSU recovered the onside kick to secure the win.

Freshman Anthony Jennings made his first collegiate start in place of the injured Zach Mettenberger and was sacked 4 times while completing just 7-of-19 passes for 82 yards, and the game-opening 8-play drive was all Hill with 5 carries for 60 yards until Jennings scored from 2 yards out.

The Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com forecasted a 10.45-point victory for LSU.
