The final of four games on New Year's Eve went from unexpected blowout to dramatic comeback as Texas A&M survived Duke's upset bid 52-48 in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

The Blue Devils jumped to a 21-3 lead early in the 2nd quarter and stretched it to 38-17 on a field goal on the last play of the first half.

The Aggies responded in the second half, but Duke was still in position to win the game until quarterback Anthony Boone's pass to the flat was intercepted and returned 55 yards for a touchdown by Toney Hurd, Jr. with 3:33 to play.

The Blue Devils marched to the A&M 38 with well over a minute to play when Boone tried to throw a ball away under heavy pressure and had that one picked off by Nate Askew to effectively end the game.

Johnny Manziel threw for 382 and 4 touchdowns and ran for 73 yards another score for the Aggies who finished 9-4 and improved their bowl record to 16-19 with their third straight bowl win.

Duke finished the season at 10-4 and dropped to 3-7 all-time in bowl games.

The Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com projected the Aggies to win by 8.48.
