Weekend Recap: Sacramemto State wins at Weber State As All Four Unbeatens Stay That Way

November 6, 2022 by CollegeFootballPoll.com Staff

With most FCS teams concluding their 2022 season in two weeks, there are still four undefeated teams remaining among the FCS ranks. Jackson State, ranked No. 1 in the Congrove computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com, is joined by No. 2 Sacramento State, 6th-ranked Holy Cross and No. 7 Princeton as the teams still standing with unblemished records.

There should be very little movement in the computer rankings this week as only two of the computer's top 25 teams lost. No. 8 Weber State had a narrow 33-30 setback at home to No. 2 Sacramento State, and No. 25 Harvard was upset 21-20 at home by Columbia..

12 teams had a bye week, including four that were in the top 25 of last week's rankings -  No. 11 Mercer, No. 15 Furman, No. 16 Jacksonville State, and No. 19 Sam Houston State.

Jackson State was a 41-14 winner at Texas Southern, No. 3 South Dakota State eked out a 31-28 win at Northern Iowa, and 4th-ranked Incarnate Word romped to a 73-20 home victory over Houston Christian.

No. 5 Montana State took an easy 41-13 win at Northern Arizona, while Holy Cross took down Lehigh 42-14 in Worcester, and Princeton managed a 17-14 home win over Dartmouth.

The computer's picks weekly picks were 45-14 SU and 38-21 against the spread.

The weekend wasn't entirely without some surprise outcomes. Among them, Towson was a 27-3 winner at Villanova as an 11-point underdog, Bryant won 43-37 at home over Campbell as a 9.5-point dog (but a computer pick to win), and Northwestern State was a 41-14 winner at Texas A&M-Commerce as a 14.5-point underdog.

FCS vs. FBS

There will be 119 FBS vs. FCS matchups this season with App State, Army and Marshall each playing two such games, and 116 other FBS schools playing one apiece.

No such games took place this week. Lamar visits New Mexico State on November 12, and the final FBS-FCS matchups occur on November 19 with Austin Peay at Alabama, Utah Tech at BYU, ETSU at Mississippi State, and North Alabama at Memphis.

The FBS is 106-8 (.930) vs. the FCS this year, and 1,680-148 (.919) since we began tracking this in 2003.
