An interception in the end zone with 6 seconds left secured Alabama A&M's 40-33 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and gave the Bulldogs their first SWAC Championship title since 2006.

The Golden Lions, vying for their first SWAC title since 2012, held a 26-18 lead at halftime, but Alabama A&M battled back with 24 unanswered points to take a 40-26 lead with 7:16 to play in the game. A quick interception gave A&M the short field to extend the lead, but Pine Bluff held and took over on downs at its own 28 and embarked on a 72-yard drive in 11 plays that cut the deficit to 40-33 with 2:30 to go.

The Golden Lions then held the Bulldogs to a 3-and-out and drove to the 23-yard line before Trenton McGhee's interception ended the threat on the 4th-down throw.
