Heading into the final week of the regular season, the American Athletic Conference is the only title game matchup to be set with Army due to battle Tulane. Bit even that game doesn't have the final piece of the puzzle solved, which is where they will meet. Both are 7-0 in conference play with Army hosting UTSA this week, and Tulane hosting Memphis.
In the ACC, we know one thing for sure - everybody's preseason prediction of which teams would meet for the conference championship was at least half wrong because no one we know of had SMU favored to win the ACC title. But here we are - the Mustangs have secured one spot, and the other will be Miami or Clemson.
In the Big Ten, Oregon awaits a possible rematch with Ohio State. If the Buckeyes fall to Michigan, the Ducks could face Indiana or Penn State.
The Big 12 says there are as many as 256 scenarios that could play out, depending on the outcome of 7 games
In CUSA, Jax State awaits either Liberty, Sam Houston or WKU. Ironically, those four teams all square-off this weekend.
The MAC has both spots up for grabs, while the Mountain West knows Boise State will host either UNLV or Colorado State.
Georgia will face the winner of Texas at Texas A&M for the SEC Championship.
The Sun Belt has five teams in the mix.

Boise State, which is playing for a National Championship playoff bid as much as anything, was a 34-18 winner at home on Friday in a non-conference game versus Oregon State.
Colorado State won 42-37 at home over Utah State on Friday. Leading 42-30, CSU gave up a TD with 14 seconds left and the Aggies recovered the onside kick but threw a pick to end the game.
UNLV hosts Nevada on Saturday at 8.
Colorado State and UNLV did not meet in the regular season so if both teams both win, the tie will be broken by results-based computer metrics.

The final three games between FCS and FBS schools took place this past weekend with Charleston Southern, The Citadel and Wofford all losing convincingly to Florida State, Clemson and South Carolina, respectively.
FBS schools were 115-6 in FBS-FCS games this season, and are a cumulative 1,915-158 (.924) since we began tracking this in 2003.
In 2024, there were 121 matchups scheduled between FBS and FCS schools with 119 playing one such game, while Hawaii and UMass each play two.
15 schools were not scheduled to play a FCS opponent. Of those fifteen schools, 5 are in the B1G (Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, USC and UCLA). Texas is the only school in the SEC that will not play a FCS program. The same is true for Virginia Tech in the ACC. In fact, Texas and Virginia Tech, along with Michigan and Houston, were repeats from the list of schools in 2023 that played all FBS programs.
2024 FCS wins vs. FBS:
August 24: Montana State 35, New Mexico 31

September 7: Southern Utah 27, UTEP 24 (OT)
September 21: Monmouth 45, FIU 42
