The Top NFL Free Agent Signings This Offseason

June 9, 2025 by Staff

With the fallout still being felt from the NFL Draft that saw Shedeur Sanders drop all the way to the fifth round to the Cleveland Browns, it’s time to gear up for the NFL preseason. With the ink almost dry on those new free agent signings, we decided to do a quick review about the leading off-season signing heading into the NFL camp.

Brock Purdy's Monster Contract Signing

Just a few short years ago, NFL critics, the 49ers faithful, and the best NFL betting sites didn’t give Purdy enough props to be a starting NFL Quarterback. However, just a few short years ago, Brock Purdy channeled in inner Joe Cool to lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl rematch with the Chiefs. Despite a solid performance, Purdy and the 49ers ultimately lost.

However, unfazed by the Eagles winning Super Bowl 59, the 49ers shocked the world by inking Brock Purdy to a monster five-year contract worth $265 million. Whether or not the 49ers improve 6-11 doesn’t take away that Purdy gets $181 million guaranteed.

Besides Purdy’s monster deal, the 49ers also recently made Fred Warner the highest-paid NFL linebacker. According to leading reports, Fred Warner signed a three-year deal worth $63 million. Besides getting $56 million guaranteed, this recent contract extension is the second time in Warner’s sensational career that he is the highest-paid linebacker.

For the 2024 season, the former third-round pick registered 82 tackles with a sack. He also tallied two interceptions.

AJ Cole’s $16 million Foot

Whether you love or hate the Raiders, there’s no denying that they have a legacy for great kickers and punters. From the iconic George Blanda to Ray Guy and Sebastian Janikowski, the Raiders have consistently made their kickers some of the highest-paid in the game. So far, the trend continues with A.J. Cole.

Recently, the Raiders signed A.J. Cole to a $16 million dollar deal with $11 million guaranteed. For the 2024-2025 season, Cole averaged nearly 51 yards per punt, which was even better than former Raiders punter Shane Lechler and Hall of Famer Ray Guy. As now the highest-paid punter in the league, Cole averaged the highest punting average for the previous four seasons.

Derrick Henry Keeps Running

Derrick Henry ran over defenses with the Titans, and he will continue doing so with the Baltimore Ravens. A few weeks ago, the Ravens extended Henry by two years with a $30 million dollar contract. Despite being over 30, the Ravens believe in Henry’s north-south running, which they hope will carry them to a Super Bowl 60 birth. For the 2024 season, the former 2016 second-round pick out of #1 Alabama rushed for over 1,900 yards with 16 rushing touchdowns.

Henry also caught two more touchdowns. The two-year extension offers him $25 million guaranteed.
