September 29, 2019 by Dave Congrove

Clemson stuffed a 2-point conversion attempt by North Carolina and recovered the ensuing onside kick as the 26-1/2-point favorites survived a stiff challenge from the Tar Heels, 21-20, in Chapel Hill. UNC pulled to within 1 on Javonte Williams' 1-yard plunge with 1:17 left, but QB Sam Howell as tackled well short of the goal line after Mack Brown opted to go for the lead instead of the tie. It's Clemson's 20th straight victory over-all, and 22nd straight in the regular season.
