October 29, 2017 by CFP Staff

Alabama is Number 1. On that, we can all agree. Georgia is pretty solid as a No. 2 team, but what humans will think, say and rank beyond that is anybody's guess. While the College Football Playoff Committee prepares to release their first rankings of the year on Tuesday, here's a look at the latest Congrove Computer Rankings (CCR Top 130).

Alabama and Georgia are, indeed 1 and 2, with Ohio State taking 3rd and Wisconsin 4th. Penn State only fell 3 notches from 2nd to 5th.

Alabama was idle while Georgia crushed Florida 42-7. Ohio State edged Penn State 39-38 in dramatic comeback fashion.

Miami takes 6th, ahead of Clemson, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Washington.

The SEC has the top two teams and the Big Ten has the next three. ACC teams hold all but one of the next 4 places

Both TCU and USF lost for the first time on Saturday and tumbled out of the top 10. TCU fell from 6th to 14th with its 14-7 loss to Iowa State, and USF slid from 9th to 15th after losing to Houston.
