Clemson No. 1 In FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll

November 26, 2017 by FWAA-NFF and CFP Staff

NOTE: CollegeFootballPoll.com's Dave Congrove is among the voters.

With 31 of 48 first-place votes in-hand, Clemson rises to the top of this week's FWAA-NFF Super 16 Football Poll. Oklahoma and Auburn take 2nd and 3rd, but Wisconsin garners the second-most No. 1 votes (8).

Last week's top team, Alabama lost for the first time this season, to Auburn, and fell to 5th. Previously unbeaten and then-No. 2 Miami (Fla.) lost at Pitt and dropped to 7th.

The Crimson Tide's Iron Bowl loss to Auburn meant it slipped out of first place for the first time this season in the poll.

Wisconsin, the only remaining undefeated team in the Power 5 conferences, inched up the rankings from 5th to 4th though 8 voters at the Badgers at the top of their respective ballots.

The SEC led all conferences with four teams. The Big Ten and Pac-12 had three each. The ACC and Big 12 had two each. The American and Independents one each.

Voters in the poll consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective.

Congrove's top 6 this week mirrored the final poll.
