Arkansas Fires Chad Morris

November 10, 2019 by CollegeFootballPoll.com Staff

As expected, Arkansas announced on Sunday (November 10) that Chad Morris had been fired and named tight ends coach Barry Lunney, Jr. as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Arkansas had just lost 45-19 at home to Western Kentucky the previous day to drop to 2-8 on the season and extend its curent losing streak to 7 games. The loss to the Hilltoppers, coupled with a 31-24 home defeat at the hands of San Jose State earlier in the season, magnified the depth of Arkansas' problems.

Morris was 4-18 in his 22-game tenure. The Hogs have lost 22 consecutive SEC games.
