On New Year's Day in Orlando, Georgia scored 22 unanswered points to beat Nebraska 45-31 in the Capital One Bowl after trailing 31-23 in the 3rd quarter.
Aaron Murray threw 5 TD passes, the fourth of which went for 24 yards to Keith Marshall to take a 38-31 lead on the opening play of the 4th quarter. The last came on an 87-yarder to Chris Conley less than 4 minutes later.
Murray finished with 428 yards passing with TD tosses to Arthur Lynch (29 yards) and Tavarres King (75 yards) in the first quarter, and to Chris Conley (49 yards) in the 3rd. He also threw a 24-yard pick-6 in the first to Nebraska' Will Compton.
The 'Dawgs improved to 27-18-3 in bowl games while the 'Huskers fell to 24-25. Georgia entered the bowl season with the 10th-best bowl winning percentage of all-time (minimum 20 appearances) and the 6th-most bowl wins. Nebraska (24-25) came in to the game with the 9th-most bowl wins.
The Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com projected a 6.43-point win for Georgia.
